Everyone has a calling - whether it's a job you're passionate about, a hobby, volunteering, or charity work.

If your calling is helping children, then becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer may be for you.

There is currently an overwhelming shortage of CASA volunteers in our community. We are in need of caring adults who are passionate and dedicated to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

We will be hosting a new CASA volunteer training for Muskogee, McIntosh, Sequoyah, and Wagoner Counties beginning July 8, 2024.

In training, new CASA volunteers learn about child welfare, child development, trauma-informed care, and various other aspects involved in child advocacy.

Join us in ensuring that children and youth in foster care have a safe path to a forever home by becoming a CASA volunteer.

Here's how:
1) Review the requirements for becoming a CASA volunteer on our website - www.casaok.org.
2) Complete and submit an application. Applications can be submitted online using the following link - https://ok-children.evintosolutions.com/VolunteerApplication.
3) Participate in an in-person interview.
4) Consent to a criminal background and DHS background check.
5) Attend and successfully complete our pre-service training program.
6) Be sworn in by our Juvenile Court Judge as a volunteer officer of the court.
7) Proudly SAY...I am here to speak up for children in need!

New volunteer training is completed over a five-week time span. Training is mixed with both online and in class sessions. Classroom sessions will take place every Monday evening from 5-8 pm for 5 weeks.
