As part of our commitment to upholding the highest standards of advocacy and compliance, CASA for Children provides Civil Rights Training to all volunteers per the requirements of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA). This brief but important training ensures that every volunteer understands their role in protecting the civil rights of the children and families we serve, as well as their responsibilities under federal law. Completion of this training is required for all active CASA volunteers and helps us continue to provide safe, equitable, and effective advocacy for every child in our care.
Volunteers can complete the Civil Rights Training by reviewing the materials provided below. You may choose to view the PowerPoint presentation or watch the recorded video—both contain the same essential information. After completing the training, please email jenny@casaok.org to confirm your participation.
